S. SUJATA CHAWARE, M.N. KOTHARI AND A.S. JOSHI

Abstract

Pseudomonas species was well known for biological control activity against certain rhizospheric phytopathogenic fungi such as Fusarium oxysporum, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Penicillium chrysogenum and Rhizopus species were screened and the bacterial isolate was confirmed for production of siderophore by thin layer chromatography. Present study revealed the functional diversity among isolates of Pseudomonas species associated with rhizospheric soil of banana is useful to understand their ecological role and for their utilization in sustainable agriculture.
