Abstract
A study was undertaken to find out the allelopathic effects of common trees viz., Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Acacia nilotica, Derris indica, Cassia siamea and Sesbania grandiflora raised on field bunds as an agroforestry practices in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. Leaf leachates were collected after 8 hr, 16 hr and 24 hr of immersion and used for treating seed samples. Varying degrees of inhibitory and stimulatory effects on seedling growth of Oryza sativa and Eleusine coracana were identified.
