Abstract

A tria was carried out during summer season, 2012 to study the effect of various casing soil combinations on growth and yield of milky mushroom (Calocybe indica). Maximum yield (1539.73 g) per bed was obtained by casing soil combinations of farmyard manure (two years old) plus garden soil plus sand in the ratio of 1: 1: 1. The casing soil combinations also resulted in minimum period for pinhead initiation, maximum number of sporophore and maximum biological efficiency. Maximum length, diameter of stipe, weight of sporophore was obtained in case of FYM plus garden soil plus sand cased the bed in the ratio of 1: 1:1.
