PRUSSIAN AND CRUCIAN CARP: CONFINDNESS TO VARIOUS TYPES OF WATERS AND CO-INHABITING SPECIES IN WATER BODIES WITHIN THE MID-VOLGA REGION

Oleg N. Artaev and Aleхander B. Ruchin

Abstract

In this paper we analyze the prevalence of the carps in various types of waters and their number during the catches. The fish species composition was also analyzed. It was shown that C. gibelio more often occurs in all types of water basins except turfy ponds in which the fish occurs as frequent as C. carassius. During the catches C. gibelio is prevalent except karst and suffosion ponds where the number of C. carassius is twice as more.
