PATH COEFFICIENT ANALYSIS STUDIES IN GLADIOLUS

R. Rashmi and S.Y. Chandrashekar

Abstract

Path coefficient analysis was worked out for number of spike per plant, in twenty gladiolus genotypes (Gladiolus hybridus L.). Path coefficient analysis for number of spike per plant revealed that plant height, days taken for spike initiation, rachis length, number of florets per spike, diameter of the floret, number of corms, diameter of cormhad high directeffects which indicated the possibility of increasing spike yield by selecting the genotypes for these characters directly.
