Basavaraj Patil, S. M. Hiremath and B.T. Nadagouda

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during 2013-14 at Agricultural Research Station, Mudhol, to evaluate precision water and nutrient management in sugarcane. The experiment was laid out in split plot design with 12 treatment combinations and three replications. Among the irrigation methods subsurface and surface drip irrigation recorded significantly higher cane yield and yield parameters (224 t ha-1). Among the target yield levels significantly higher cane yield (246 t ha-1), number of millable canes (127.41 thousands ha-1) and five cane weight (9.62 kg) were observed with target yield of 300 t ha-1. The other quality parameters like brix, CCS and purity % were did not show any significant difference due to treatment effects.
