LONG-TERM EXPERIENCE OF STUDYING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF SOIL AND VEGETATION INTERACTIONS OF THE KLYAZMA RIVER BASIN

Roman Repkin, Natalia Mishchenko and Oleg Permyakov

Abstract

The research of the interaction between soil and vegetation is important for the study of patterns of the vegetation cover changes, soil properties and genesis and ecosystem monitoring, identifying landscape dynamics trends and the possibility of their economical usage within the boundaries of the Klyazma River basin. The article for the first time presents the results of the long-term study of soil and vegetation interactions within the drainage basin of the Klyazma River. The specificity of soil in the region was determined, and the peculiarities of soil formation were identified, depending on the position in the landscape and the vegetation character. The ecological differences within the basin and the pattern of nature management were considered. The effect of the plant micro-groups on the physicochemical properties of soil phases was studied.
