Abstract

Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik) is an important crop, the major states producing lentil are Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Punjab. Vascular wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. Lentis is one of the most important disease of lentil worldwide. In this study the inhibitory effects of five fungicides (Hexaconazol, Benlate, Captan, Cabendazim and Carboxin) at 0.1% and 0.2% concentrations were tested under in-vitro condition. All the five tested chemicals significantly inhibited the growth of the pathogen at both concentrations. Hexaconazol showed complete inhibition of mycelial growth at both the concentrations while carbendazim at 0.2% concentration showed complete inhibition of mycelial growth.
