Abstract

In the present investigation, the pattern of growth in terms of fruit weight, volume, and fruit size (length x diameter) followed a cyclic development characteristics of double sigmoid curve of nectarine. The fruit grew at a faster rate (stage I) followed by a slight inflection in growth curve which marked the transition of fruit into a period of slow growth (stage II) at 28 DAFB. Again a definite point of deflection at 49 DAFB marked the beginning of period of final swell (stage III). The double sigmoid pattern of growth was fairly uniform and consistent during course of the study. There was positive correlation between vegetative and fruit growth parameters.
