Abstract
Population density of seedlings and saplings has been studied in the two forest stands situ ated along the border of Jhansi district (U.P.) adjacent to Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, India. The seedling density varied from 146.58 100m-2 (Winter season) to 297.65 100m-2 (rainy season) in stand I and it ranged from 258.00 100m-2 (Winter season) to 403.96 100m-2 (rainy season) in stand II. The sapling densities were recorded 56.9 100m-2 to 36.8 100m-2 for stand I and II respectively.
