Nikhil Sharma and Y.S. Chandel

Abstract

A study on influence of weather parameters on Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) moth trapping pattern was conducted by using pheromone traps at CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Palampur (H.P.) during 2014 and 2015. The observations revealed the activity of moths from March end to December beginning during both the years. The population was relatively higher during April, May and June months with peak activity in the month of May (19th MSW). The correlation analysis revealed positive correlation of the moth catches with minimum and maximum temperatures, wind speed, evaporation and bright sunshine hours and negative correlation with rainfall and morning & evening relative humidity.
