Abstract

A study was conducted at Department of Plant Pathology, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur (Rajasthan). The severity of dry root rot disease has been increasing day by day for last few years in India due to changes in environment. The pot experiment was carried out to understand the development of dry root rot on chilli with respect to weather conditions during 2014-15. Results showed that maximum temperature (r=0.971), minimum temperature (r=0.982) and sunshine (r=0.520) had strong positive significant correlation while relative humidity during morning, evening and rainfall had strong negative correlation with disease development. Disease severity was found comparatively higher in the temperature range from 34.1 - 40.1°C (maximum), 19.5-28.0°C (minimum) and sunshine 7.8-10.4 hrs average in the month of April to May 2015.
