Abstract
The present studies were carried out in the Nai-Ka-Nath sacred grove, Bassi Jaipur, Rajasthan during the period of 2013 to 2015. Intensive exploration tours were conducted to study. The entire region were divided into 4 zones to methodical study. Some endangered species of Rajasthan has been found in this grove. During the study period 155 animal species were found in the grove. Of these 31 arthropods, 2 amphibians, 14 reptiles, 82 birds, and 26 mammals. In mammals 2 NT, 1 Schedule I, 6 Schedule II, and 4 birds & 2 reptiles are in Schedule I, 2 reptiles in Schedule II. These species play a significant role in the maintaining ecology balance and to complete the food chains and food webs. It is observed that this grove is an ideal place for the conservation of faunal species and the area also has good potential to provide suitable habitats to more species.
