Abstract
The paper deals with the waste water analysis by physico-chemical and the statistical parameters. The water samples are collected from six most polluted lakes of Hyderabad and analyzed for around 18 parameters. Chemical analysis with diverse multivariate statistical techniques, i.e. cluster analysis (CA) and discriminant analysis (DA) were applied to the data on water quality of Hyderabad. This study evaluated and interpreted complex data to get better information about water quality. Through this a simple and effective monitoring network is constructed to supervise water pollution at similar clusters of different lakes in the city. The chemical correlations were observed by cluster Analysis (CA), which was used to classify the samples based on the scores. The results revealed that the major causes of water quality deterioration were related to inflow of effluents from industrial, domestic, agricultural and saline seeps into the lake and due to commercialization of lake for boating and fishing.
