THE LOCATION OF URBAN PARK USING AHP MODEL STUDY AREA: DISTRICT 11 TEHRAN

Abstract

Today, with the development of urban societies, the use of green space and its suitable distribution has become one of the main concerns of city managers, especially in the megalopolises. The expansion of Tehran with centralization of its interior spaces has highlighted the necessity of access to local parks more than ever. The aim of this study is to locate the green space using a hierarchical model (AHP) in district No.11 in Tehran. To achieve this, we used GIS software and performed procedures such as data collection, preparation of a new information layer, classification and valuation of layers, and finally weighing and overlapping information layers to prioritize the lands in district No.11 of Tehran to build a new green space. Finally, several areas were presented in the hierarchical model for building green space. Increasing land prices, lack of barren and blank spaces, population growth and increasing construction density have made it to develop the green space in the district No.11 of Tehran.
