Abstract

Tondano river estuary waters is one of the six rivers that empties into the Bay of Manado, North Sulawesi. Receiving input settlement activity rural, urban, hydroelectric power plant (HEPP) agriculture, farming, industry, and the activities surrounding the estuary waters of the river is high enough, causing the influence of these activities on water quality of the river mouth Tondano. The study aims to analyze the water quality of the river mouth Tondano. The study was conducted in December 2016 - January 2017. The research method refers to the approach of measuring the parameters of the water quality at the site of research and analysis laboratories. Data from field measurements and analysis in laboratories in comparison with sea water quality standards issued by the Minister of Environment Decree No. 51 of 2004 on the quality standard of sea water for Marine Life. Water quality parameters that are still below the limit value set the quality standard in which the temperature, DO, BOD5 (at Station 1, 2, and 3), salinity, lead (station 1). While the parameters that have passed the water quality standard value that is turbidity, pH, nitrates, phosphates, lead (at stations 2, 3, and 4), BOD5 (at station 4). Water pollution control Tondano river mouths need to be more tightly so that the potential of coastal and marine resources remain sustainable.
