AIR POLLUTION HAS A SIMPLE SOLUTION

PRACHIE SHARMA, BHUPINDER S. GILL AND AMIT KUMAR SINGH

Abstract

Delhi air has gone from bad to worse over the last few years and threatens to go still worse in future, particularly because vehicle population is expected to increase by 7 to 8 percent annually. The Air Quality Index (AQI) often crosses 500 mark whereas the desirable number is less than 100. Here is a novel, simple and effective solution to the air pollution problem in cities, a technique by which the city air can be cleaned in a short time and kept clean over time. The technique is based on filtration of air. The project cost is estimated to be Rs 36.25 crores.
