PRODUCTION OF BIOFUELS AS ALTERNATIVE SOURCES OF ENERGY FROM VARIOUS RAW MATERIALS

Monika Sharma, Ritu Kumari Singh and Chandra Kant Sharma

Abstract

Energy of biofuel is derived through the process of carbon fixation. Biofuel is an energy derived from renewable plant and animal materials. Energy which derived from biofuel is called bioenergy. Biofuels are also recognized as agrofuel, which are mainly derived from biomass or bio waste. Biofuel production is increasing due to limited quantities of petroleum reservoirs as well as decreasing of fossil fuels. There are countless benefits of biofuels e.g. transportation, power generation, heat, cooking etc. Biofuel is a renewable, sustainable and carbon neutral so in future biofuel is going to play important part of global energy supply but there is a limitation or challenges with biofuel production too. It faces challenges like land availability competition with food production which increases both biofuel and food prices and many more.
