Neel Ratan and U.N. Singh

Abstract

The study has been carried out on stone dust deposition, leaf chlorophyll contents and percentage of closed stomata in various tree plants growing around stone crusher centre Parichha, Jhansi (U.P.). Samples were collected from each four directions at different distances upto 500 meters. The dust deposition and percentage of closed stomata in leaves in all the six species studied viz Azadirachta indica, Mangifera indica, Madhuca indica, Ficus religiosa, Eugenia jambolana and Eucalyptus litriodara decreased with respect to increasing distance. Unlike dust deposition and percentage of closed stomata, the chlorophyll content of all the six species increased with respect to increasing distance.
