Abstract
In the present study the compatibility of seven commercially available PGPR with a biocontrol agent isolated in our laboratory was studied. From the compatible group of PGPR, Pseudomonas putida was found to be compatible with biocontrol agent Kocuria flava FA10. Talc powder based bio formulations were prepared for individual bacteria and mixed culture to treat seeds as well for application in soil for Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus). P. putida was found to enhance the shoot growth and Kocuria flava FA10 the root growth. Number of leaves was enhanced by the combination of both of the bacteria than their individual formulations. No root galls were observed in treatment comprising of Kocuria flava FA10, compared to P. putida and control. Seed treatment was found to be more effective for plant growth promotion and biocontrol of root knot nematodes.
