Abstract
Emerging drug resistant bacteria has created the necessity of newer antimicrobial agents which can fight against MDR pathogens existing between us. Although around 80% of antibiotics are has been discovered and handed over to the Pharmaceutical industries and treated various disease caused by these pathogens. We studied less explored regions for these antibacterial substances isolated from soil (Different regions of Rajasthan state) Actinomycetes. Microscopic and Biochemical characterization was also performed with isolates. We found 31.7% Actinobacteria to have antimicrobial activity against indicator organisms. Out of 31.7% about 18.5% isolates exhibited a broad range of activity against Staphylococcus aureus, 6.5% against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 3.25% isolates were exhibited moderate activity towards Bacillus subtilis, 3.25% Actinomycetes showed inhibition zone against Klebsiella pneumonia. These results clearly indicate that Actinobacteria isolated from these sites could be a source of important Antimicrobial Bioactive substances.
