Abstract

The effect of sodium silicate was analyzed on the morphological parameters of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. variety Pusa Sheetal) at vegetative, flowering and fruiting stages. The increase in morphological parameters of tomato plants was observed in T1treatment (5g sodium silicate) in comparison to T2treatment (7g sodium silicate). Significant increase in tomato plant height 34.27% was recorded in T1 treatment in comparison to 14.61% in T2 treatment at 40 DAS. The results of the present study clearly shows that sodium silicate promotes the growth of tomato plants under water stress condition.
