Abstract
The basic intent of the study is to correlate the carbon distribution along a protein sequence to its hydropathy index value. The hydropathy plot of proteins were created using the Kite Doolittle algorithm. This plot was compared with the carbon distribution plot. For carbon distribution pot a dynamic algorithm was written and the corresponding code was written in perl script. Further the analysed data was plotted in excel sheets. The two plots created by Kite Doolittle and carbon distribution algorithm were further analyzed for overlaps. The two plots were found to be exactly overlapping ensuing that the hydrophobicity is ruled by the carbon content in any protein sequence. Carbon is the only atom in protein sequences that imparts the hydrophobic or hydrophilic property to the protein.
