EFFICACY OF ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF GREEN SYNTHESIZED AG-NANOPARTICLES USING POLYSACCHARIDE ISOLATED FROM THE LEAVES OF HERITIERA FOMES

GAJENDRA NATH MAITY AND SUPRABHAT SAHOO

Abstract

The synthesis of silver nano particles was done by using the polysaccharide from leaf extract of Heritiera fomes and AgNO3. Thus synthesized Ag-nanoparticles are characterized by using UV- VIS spectrum band at 446 nm. Here, the polysaccharide acts as reducing and also stabilizing agent. The synthesized Ag-nanoparticles were found as very effective an antimicrobial agent against some important human pathogens such as S. typhi. S. typhimurium, Pseudomonas sp. These Ag-nanoparticle can also reduce the microbial load by destroying the microorganisms present in sewage water .
