Abstract

This research presents the assessment of 6 Phthalate esters (PAEs) indicator in water samples covering ten sites in CauBay River, Hanoi. Chemical analyses were carried out in collected water samples in April 2017. Results pointed out a significant residue of contaminant with Σ6PAEs values ranging from 258.17 to 384.18 μg/L. All 6 PAEs indicators could be detected in the collected sediment water with the predominance of DEHP, DEP and DBP. The PAEs risk in CauBay River increases from DBP (very low risk) to DEP (near low risk) and DEHP (moderate risk). Due to the capacity of PAEs to highly accumulate in various compartments and human food chain, further evaluation of ecological risk assessment in CauBay River should be undertaken.
