Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2014 at agricultural research farm of Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU, Varanasi, India, to study the nutrient uptake, nutrient depletion by weeds and crop productivity as influenced by different weed management practices in aerobic rice. Among herbicidal treatments, pre-emergence application of pendimethalin @1.00 kg a.i. ha-1 at 3-4 DAS fbbispyribac-Na @35g a.i. ha-1 at 15-20 DAS as post-emergence recorded maximum nutrient uptake by crop and minimum removal of nutrients by weeds, and it was at par with mechanical weeding at 20 and 45 DAS. Nutrient uptake by both crop and weeds were directly influenced by the relative efficacy of weed management treatments.
