Abstract

Present paper deals with the study of biodiversity of Phyto plankton of Sikam reservoir. From this reservoir, registered phyto plankton belongs to twenty nine species of twenty three genera of four different groups namely Chloro phyceae (seventeen species of eleven genera), Bacillario phyceae(five species of five genera) Cyano phyceae (five species of five genera) and Eugleno phyceae (two species of two genera). Chloro phyceae was dominant over rest of the groups and constitutes 58.62% of the total estimate of the phyto plankton population followed by Bacillario phyceae with 17.24 %, Cyano phyceae with 17.24 % and Eugleno phyceae 6.90%.
