Abstract

This study deal with the effects of freshwater (Euphrates river water) and drainage water on the Branchiomyces sanguinis mycelial growth. In November, 2018, researchers collected two liters of water from the Euphrates River (During the period of the loss of common carp in the floating cages that occurred in Iraq) and two liters of water from drainage river as well as One hundred samples of infected fish were collected to study clinical signs and laboratory tests. This research dealt with several criteria (Physical and chemical properties of water which include pH, Salinity, Temperature, Ammonia, Nitrite, Oragnic matter and dissolive oxygen], Radial growth diameter and microscopic appearance mycelia and spores of Branchiomyces sanguinis) to show the effect of freshwater and drainage water on the growth of Branchiomyces sanguinis. Results showed that Euphrates river water sample was suitable for growth of mycological mycelia due to the availability of appropriate environment factors, While the drainage water caused a lack of fungal growth due to increased salt concentration (4500 ppm), which led to distortions in the fungus threads and a lack of growth of the radial growth diameter.
