FRESHWATER ALGAL TOLERANCE TO ORGANIC POLLUTION: A REVIEWNAJMUS SAKIB KHAN AND NAZNIN AKTER TISHAAbstract The algal responses to the environment are constituted and influenced by nutrient fluctuation, availability of minerals and predator aggressiveness. The biochemical interaction between algae and inorganic nutrients are determined by aquatic geomorphological status. Algae are being physiologically adapted and survived at different levels of organic pollution and recognized as well-known bioindicators to the belonging environment. Additionally, algae are found as defender by producing various secondary metabolites. |
