Abstract

In this research which is performed in 9 treatments with 3 replications in complete randomized block design on Ocimum basilicum during cultivar year 2010 & 2011 in Kerman City (Iran) in order to study the effects of manure and chemical fertilizer on growth rate and essence amount, it becomes clear that cow manure had the highest and the most effective effect on growth rate and essence amount of Ocimum basilicumand it is followed by sheep manure. The effect of chemical fertilizer on growth rate of this plant is assessed well but the effect of chemical fertilizer is week on essence amount. The weakest manure is mixture of cow and chiken manure from the viewpoint of growth rate and essence amount. In general chicken manure alone one as a mixture with other manure has weaker effects than other manures on growth rate and essence amount of Ocimum basilicum.
