EFFECT OF PRODUCTION FACTORS ON GROWTH, YIELD AND ECONOMICS OF NIGER(GUIZOTIA ABYSSINICA CASS)S.S. Kumar and A.C. PandeyAbstract An experiment was conducted during 1999-2000 to evaluate the growth, yield and economic returns of Niger (Guizotia abyssinica cass) under rainfed plateau region of Chhotanagpur, India. The improved practices (use of fertilizer + line sowing + weed control + improved variety) recorded highest yield (6.10 Oa-% straw yield (20.41 gha-1) and net return (Rs. 1066.30 per ha.) followed by improved practices - line sowing (5.33 qha-1, 17.31 qhal and Rs. 921 per ha.)
