LaskarAbstract Research and development work in the field of energy conservation of buildings in the hilly areas of India and particularly in North East is very little. Sufficient information for energy efficient building design is not yet available. Attempts have been made to predict the indoor environmental temperature for both summer and winter and the factors influencing the same have been discussed. Concurrency charts have been prepared for quick estimation of average and peak indoor environmental temperature, which will be very useful for the designers at the planning stage.
