EFFECT OF ORGANIC AND INORGANIC FERTILIZERS ON QUALITY AND ECONOMICS OF CLUSTERBEAN (CYAMOPSIS TETRAGONOLOBA (L) TAUB)M.B. Khamkar, D.S. Patil, Y.S. Saitwal, Vishal L. Bhor and Shivaji D. GaikwadAbstract The present work was carried out to study the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and yield parameters of clusterbean (Cyamopsis tatragonoloba (L.) Taub) and was conducted in Department of Horticulture, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani with variety Pusa Navbahar in monsoon 2009-10. Results of the experiment showed that the effect of chemical fertilizer (NPK), FYM, vermicompost, on quality attributing characters such as length of pod (cm), weight of pod (g) and keeping quality at room temperature in day was significant. The treatment T7 (50% RDF+ 50% Vermicompost) showed significantly more pod length (9.0 cm) than T3, and T8 (25% RDF +75% FYM). The treatments T6, T1, T5, T4 and T9 were found to be statistically at par with the treatment T7(50% RDF+ 50% Vermicompost) in respect of pod length. The treatment T7-(50% RDF+50% Vermicompost) recorded maximum number of individual pods weight (2.63 g) followed by the treatment T6 -50% RDF+50% FYM (2.55 g).
