BIODIVERSITY OF OSTRACODS IN AMBATTUR LAKE, TAMILNADU, INDIAN. Uma Chandra, K. Revathi and V. RekhaAbstract Ostracod diversity was studied in Ambattur Lake, Tamil Nadu for a period of two years during January, 2004 to December, 2005. A total of eight varieties of Ostracods were recorded during the study period of which Cypridopsis sp., Cypris sp., Ilyocypris sp. and Stenocypris sp. were the genera identified. The detailed description of the Ostracods recorded during this study is presented for substantiating the taxonomic relevance of the study.
