Abstract

A pot experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of different doses of farm yard manure (FYM) and zinc (Zn) on growth, nutrient uptake and yield performance of guar [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub]. With respect to control, three levels of FYM (12.5, 25 and 37.5 mg/pot) and two levels of zinc (5 and 10 mg/ pot) application were used to compare their effects on guar with three replication in pots (5 kg capacity) using RBD at R.B.S College, Bichpuri, in Kharif 2010. Maximum plant height, green foliage yield and dry matter accumulation in clusterbean were observed under highest dose of FYM (37.5 mg/pot) and Zn application (10 mg/pot). Maximum content and uptake of N, P, K and Zn was reported with highest level of FYM and Zn in clusterbean. Results showed that FYM and Zn significantly enhanced the growth and uptake of nutrients.
