Abstract

A field experiment was conducted on medium to deep black soil to study the interactive effect of N, P and S on nutrient availability and yield of soybean. The experiment was conducted at Departmental farm College of Agriculture, Latur Marathwada Kishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani during kharif year 2005-2006. The soybean cultivar (JS-335) was used with 20 treatment combinations of fertilizer and sulphur levels viz., 5 fertilizer levels (0, 60, 100, 150 and 200% RDF) and 4 sulphur levels (0, 30, 45 and 60 kg S ha-1) in a split plot design replicated thrice. The data revealed that application of 150 per cent RDF in combination with 45 kg S ha-1 was found to be superior on nutrient availability, yield and quality of soybean over all other treatment combinations. The application of 200 per cent RDF in combination with 45 kg S ha-1 was found to be superior in report of quality parameter of soybean over 100 per cent RDF + 45 kg S ha-1, 50 per cent RDF + 45 kg S ha-1 and control. It can be concluded that besides nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and sulphur is also essential for increasing nutrient status, yield and quality of soybean.
