EFFECT OF MOLYBDENUM AND INOCULANTS ON SYMBIOTIC TRAITS, NODULE LEGHAEMOGLOBIN AND YIELD OF SOYBEAN IN A VERTISOLArpit Suryawanshi, G.S. Tagore, P.S. Kulhare and G.D. SharmaAbstract A field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 2013 at the experimental field of College of Agriculture, Jabalpur to assess the effect of Mo and inoculants on nodulation, leghaemoglobin and yield of soybean in a Vertisol. The results indicated that, the treatment T8 application of 0.5 kg Ammonium molybdate ha-1 as soil application in combination with Rhizobium + PSB significantly increased nodule number, nodule fresh weight, nodule dry weight and leghaemoglobin content in nodular tissue of soybean over control. The application of 0.5 kg Ammonium molybdate ha-1 with Rhizobium + PSB significantly increased the yield (25%) over control (1.48 t ha-1) but at par with the application 0.5 kg Ammonium molybdate ha-1 with Rhizobium alone and dual inoculation of Rhizobium and PSB. Hence, it was concluded that, inoculation of Rhizobium and PSB treatments was more economical for farmers.
