Abstract

Chlorides play an important role in water quality determination. Increased concentration of chlorides is lways regarded as an indicator of eutrophication and pollution due to sewage discharge. In this regard the present investigation had been continued for a period of two years from August 2002 to July, 2004 to assess the correlation between chlorides of water and zooplankton of Pandu Lake. Significant correlation was found between Chlorides and zooplankton observed. Our results show that the high values of chloride concentration allowed Zooplankton to flourish reflecting pollution status of Pandu lake.
