Vetrova*Abstract In the article the team of authors presented the results of the work on the interaction of scientific organizations and individual research associates of the Russian Federation with relevant partners from the EU member states in the field of climate change and environmental protection describing the main priorities for such interaction in the retrospect, at the present stage and in the near future. Currently, the priority area is a program of scientific and technical cooperation Horizon 2020, which replaced the Seventh Framework Program, in the framework of which partners from Russia participate as well-endowed representatives of the third countries, i.e. according to the format of self-sufficiency on the part of the state participating in this project. The work studies the mechanism for conducting this type of activities by the national contact points, in particular, in the field of ecology by the national contact point “Environment and climate change”. At the end of the work the authors dwell on the prospects of further cooperation, primarily due to the new well-endowed participants of the third countries with special attention given to the partners from the PeopleÂ’s Republic of China.
